Since October, 2007, the corporate leadership has re-ordered the start-up groups for MPA/Milwaukee Professionals Association. There have been five (5) groups selected for the 2008. They are:

  • BARBER & COSMETOLOGY GROUP
  • AUTO MECHANIC GROUP
  • PARENT GROUP
  • SECURITY GROUP
  • TECHNOLOGY GROUP

The first group is Barber & Cosmetology instead of “Security” as released on October 4, 2007.

Lack of Employment and Under-employment in the City of Milwaukee is a chronic concern for People of Color and the Working Poor.

We know that these two (2) groups of Americans/Milwaukeeans have “always worked”.
Too often, they have been exploited for their labor. They have trained others, yet told they were not qualified.

Some challenges to overcome requires:
o documentation of experiences and continuity of experiences.
o highlight rates of pay to be commensurate with the marketplace.
o see that mainstream Milwaukee and our neighborhoods hire People of Color and the Working Poor; and, follow best practices.

We have identified some “growth” industries that have taken root and some that can take root due to today’s marketplace.

We know that these industries have requirements.
We know that education attainment is a pre-requisite.
We know that work experience must be assessed.

We at Campaign Neighborhood - CFNBA are taking a leadership role in helping to provide solutions to the challenges.

We know that networking and regular communication is necessary for growth. We have adopted “networking”, “technology” and “ongoing communications” as a Smart Growth technic.

Our first Membership group is:
Milwaukee Professionals - Security Guard.

If you are interested in becoming a member, the following is required:

 $25.00 Annual Membership
 $15.00 one time Signup FEE (if renewal is withing 10 days of renewal period)
