Social Responsibility in Development

What’s up here?
What’s wrong with this picture?
This is a Meeting of the Milwaukee 7.

Howdy!

This page is devoted to the “mindset” of:

“Design, Planning and Decision Making is with the Stakeholders and Customers before, during and post projects that use public funding of any kind”.

Our Findings
The past and present practices of the City of Milwaukee - Mayor, Common Council, Department of City Development, Department of Neighborhood Services, Department of Public Works and the Board of Zoning & Development are lacking in “best practices” and “good customer care” of the taxpayers, especially the majority population - People of Color and the Working Poor.

The things that we will work on for the next 12 months are:
Allocation of funds/tax credits -
 HUD/Community Development Block Grant
 MEDC/Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation
 WHEDA/Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority
 Office of Justice
WisDOT/Wisconsin Department of Transportation
 EPA/Environmental Protection Authority
 Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
 Wisconsin Department of Commerce
 Wisconsin Department of Tourism
 Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions
 Wisconsin Department of Administration

We will look at and promote:
 Community Relations Guidelines
 Promotion of the Neighborhood Bill of Rights
 Elected Officials Report Card
 Election and Re-election of Worthy Candidates
 Reform in Economic Development in the Inner City
